Ive been playing with making a pair of these seats over the winter. The side seat frames are pre made, but the seats, the width, padding, etc is all DIY and custom however I want to make them. Has anyone tried these from Rotten Leonards Jalopy Shop? Thought about the all aluminum/rivet bomber seats but thought id burn my a$$ in the summer and making covers defeats the purpose. I have an outlaw and love the raw look. Thinking diamond pattern leather as these are.

It looks like the sides could be a pattern that gets transferred to your skin if it gets too hot
They look cool. But if you've got a lot of "extra padding" yourself, I bet those sides are pretty uncomfortable.
Getting in and out might be painful.

Ouch

These?
Not so much.
I do think it's kind've ironic that Jim had "bomber" seats in the car before he sold it to Alan. Al put in the EMPI seats, then sold the bomber seats. NDPENDANT bought the car with the EMPI seats, and would like to put bomber seats back in it.
These aren't the right seat (even if they looked good), as I guarantee they are too wide. Finding a comfortable, good looking seat that will fit a VW pan is no easy task. The EMPI C13-62-2880 seats in that car are about 10" wide at the back. No joke.
Too squared off for the rounded shape of a Speedster.
Stan, no argument from me about the suitability of the seats in question, but be aware: it's a kit; you make them whatever width you want.

Pretty awesome seats. Wonder if they can do them in copper...
Copper would add 300 lbs to the GVW :~)
Not a fan. They look like a torture device instead of a seat.
