Total 4 "Davis" 4core thick radiators, very small (heat sinks). I use the original water pump with a modified thermostat, and, 1 electric water pump to cool the intake turbo air. There are 2 separate cooling systems, 1 for the engine block the other cooling system for the turbo intercooler. The engine cooling system sends antifreeze to the front radiator and another radiator under a rear wheel well through 1 1/2" aluminum tubing with bleed-off valves to eliminate air in the low-pressurized system. The turbo intercooling system has a 3 gallon reservoir round aluminum tank behind the drivers seat covered with interior carpet. The tank feeds a electric water pump, the pump feeds a radiator in the firewall between the engine compartment and the cockpit, it's also ducted to pick up cool air from the street by a louvered aluminum belly pan on the drivers side of the car under the door sill.
On the hottest of days here in SoCa. the manual pump keeps the block temp at 180 F., Sometimes in heavy stop and go traffic I turn on the turbo intercooler system which brings the temp back from 230F to 180F.
The only other time I turn on the intercooler system is when I really want to go fast.
Even on a normally aspirated fuel-injected system this cooling theory/system of chilling the intake air would help end overheating problems.H.ColbergPS. $4,500 for radiators/ aluminum tubing/ machine made adaptors/heli-arch welding/bleed-off valves/// w/blue silicone hoses and stainless steel t-bolt hose clamps throughout for my engine block/turbo system. If you would like to see/purchase the car come to San Diego/Coronado Island.PSS. I forgot to load another photo in my original posting... please see. Additionally all of the wheel wells are polished aluminum also.

Yo, Major, I think you got it right: been there, done that, and now can tell you all about it. That said, I'd REALLY like to see this car in person; and driving it would surely be a thrill. I can't comment on the advertising, as it all sounds about right to me, but I am easy to fool. I am very impressed by the purpose-built space frame -- this looks to be really done right, although all we see so far is a drawing.
My biggest problem with this car is the price. For that kind of money you can get a pretty nice used Intermeccanica. And you know that car will be well made and well sorted. This thing just reeks of major problems. Too overdone for the purpose most of us drive this cars. The original car was designed to be very simple. This is very complicated although I am sure it is a lot of fun to drive. I have $40k in my VS at this point and it is mostly done, if these are ever done. Would I buy a used IM for $55? Absolutely because I know I will not have problems.
I just want to say thank you for building this beast. It truly is an engineering feat.
I'll keep my negative thoughts to myself.
Since we keep coming back to this, and since this guy's thread has been blown up anyhow (sorry, man):
Guys who want to sell cars go to other websites. Guys who want to have their cars picked apart by every armchair expert post them for sale here.
It shouldn't be that hard to make the classifieds a pay-as-you-go, no-response thread. It's (clearly) not my site, but as a suggestion: how about people trying to sell stuff pay for the freight, rather than casual users? If I'm selling a car, $50 and the guarantee that nobody is going to opine about my listing would be money well spent.
But $50/yr, every year, for as long as a guy owns his car and visits the site seems like punishing people for contributing. I really appreciate Theron, and all he's done in keeping the SOC running-- but if it costs thousands of dollars a year to host and administer the site, then perhaps the cost of hosing and administration is the issue. I paid my freight for years before I decided that I'd paid enough.
I may be in the minority, but there it is.
I know if I put a car up here...and I think I can fetch $40k as an asking price...the first one or two people that say it isn't worth that much just cost me money. They aren't interested in buying it, but they sure do give their opinion and it would cost me. I would rather spend $50 bucks to post that add and no one say a word about it. But this to me is just about placing an ad to sell it. If I want opinions on my car before hand, then I would post normal. I might post and ask what the going rate for an X with X miles in X shape goes for these days, etc.
personally I think the issue lies more in the fact that this is not a place to really buy and sell cars. It's a forum, but we rarely hear of a car selling on here. Most people here have one or want to learn about them before buying one. Aside from Alan and Troy who prices their cars right for what they are (all things of beauty!)...not even sure how many they have sold on here vs eBay.
I don't have any skin in this game so really I am just typing because I'm bored...but I have had my two speedsters on here for sale and sold outside of this site. Hell, I think I might put my spyder up now...$85k? Any takers? It's pretty!
Your car is clearly not worth $85K, Todd. A new one only costs $84,999. Besides, I don't like your choice in tires. Your lights do not have period correct stampings. I don't like the valve-covers on your engine.
You're a crook, and your mom dresses you funny.
No disrespect though, and I wish you all the best stealing from other people. I'm sure you are a fine person when you aren't ripping off old ladies or clubbing baby seals in your basement.
Good luck on your sale!
My wife just said wtf is wrong with you as I am laughing loudly. That was funny! maybe I should get better tires for that extra penny... nahh...my car is priceless...NO SALE!
I love this place . . .
And for the record: I don't care if a no-comment ad space is created or not. Charging a small fee for it would be cool, can't complain about that either. Maybe only charge if-it-sells sort of thing. Folks who post regularly and share in all this fun I believe have a moral obligation to help keep it going by being a supporting member. It's fine to praise Theron and all he does, and how well he does it (except for the SAS ad issue), but it is bare-naked $$ that make it all happen, and so if you dig this place and use it for fun, facts, hook-ups, rallies, trash-talk or whatever, you should pay the freight. Just sayin' . . .

My only regret is that I have but one "like" to give for Tom's comment above.
I agree TRP. Big LIKE on that comment.
H. Colberg welcome to SOC. I love it when new people post for sale ads here. The fine folks here have just begun to defile your ad! It seems to be a tradition so just go with it.
so if you dig this place and use it for fun, facts, hook-ups, rallies, trash-talk or whatever...
Hook-ups??? There are girls here?
A few. Well, at least one I know of . . .

HAHAHAHA!
The funniest man in Peoria, ladies and gentlemen!
And, just because this thread is still here, I'm absolutely certain that if the red car sells for its asking price, I'm going to list the Sloppy Jalopy for well over the cost of a new Intermeccanica.
Dude, I respect the engineering. The photos are illustrations, the front suspension linkage -- so far as I have seen -- looks Mendeola, and the body lines are absolutely a seasoned-to-taste thing.
As a guy who built the second-most bizarre departure from the "traditional" Speedster -- until now -- I would suggest maybe cleaning up the photos (making them photos instead of over-the-top Photoshop things) reflective of what's actually there. As it sits, warts and all, without the fluff.
Bring-A-Trailer would also be a better venue, if you honestly want to sell that car. Here, you'll just get more of this unsolicited advice.

That's why I didn't put an ad for my IM on this forum.
Guys who want to sell their cars go elsewhere. Guys who want to have other guys tell them why they won't sell their cars post them here.
Anyone trying to find a guy named Tucker and change the first letter of his name to an S should probably not post for sale items on this site.
Changing the first letter to an F works for me.....
H. Colberg posted:What is the "SOC"?What your point?Do you want to buy it?The car is here for sale.Your cheeky comment about the grills...: even God can't make everyone happy... for-an-instance... in one County there is a farmer praying for rain and in the same County there is a Golfer praying for sun (emphasis added)! All that matters is what I like, hopefully the buyer likes what I like too, or if not simply put "next" in line please.
Spectacular salesmanship.
for the record, CoolRydes Customs and Mendeola had nothing to do with this build.
