I called CarcoverPlanet.com and they said they were a custom/form fitted to the specific car.

For $115 shipped, I figured I'd give em a shot.

Ended up ordering 3 covers for some of my rides.

64 Lincoln (Insert your best joke here)

57 Vintage Speedster

67 GTO

They even gave me a 10% discount for ordering all three!

I gotta say... WOW. Great material and VERY happy with the fit.  My cars are garage kept so I went with the cheapest option, however... they have some nice choices for cars stored outside as well.

Direct link to the Speedster cover as seen in my pics here

Link to other cover options for your speedster here

I ended up paying less for all three covers than I would for one cover at California Car Covers.

Just wanted to pass on the info. (who says I don't contribute)

I've been thinking about getting an outdoor cover for Carlisle.

I have been wondering what to do about mirror pockets. Can I tell them where to locate the pockets? What is the best way to describe the locations.

I have an indoor cover I got decades ago with my CMC kit with no pockets. I thought about indicating mirror locations on it with a marker and sending it to them for a guide.

Mike, I think they were around $200, but 5 of us(Angela Lane included) bought custom covers at Carlisle and had them shipped to our home addresses later. Mine fits the Spyder really well. They don't come with a duffel/stuff sack, but $10 later I had one from a local camping store.Lenny and I got Spyder ones, Angela got one for her Dad's Monte Carlo and a couple Speedster guys bought them, can't rightly remember who though.

If you have the standard Speedster mirrors, in the standard locations, most covers come with mirror pockets already in place.

I have ordered one from Car Cover World, and am having it shipped to Carlisle.

When I ordered mine, I specified no mirror pockets, as my car has different mirrors.  I have Raydyot mirrors, which are smaller, and I figure the cover will go over them just fine.

You can probably specify where you want the mirror pockets on yours.  Take a look at the photos above that Christian posted, and see if that is where your mirrors are.

I ordere mine from California car cover without mirrors pockets because I have the gt mirror.  On my last speedster I ordered with one pocket for the driver side mirror and to be honest the car covers are usually big enough that you don't need it.  At least in the case of my first one.  It was more of a hassle to

find the mirror and get it in the pocket and it really did nothing.  Just my experience!

No pockets on mine, either. All they do is mess up your mirror adjustment putting them on and taking them off.

This is one place my tendency to over-kill does NOT apply. A cover that is tight as a drum looks kind've cool, but defeats the purpose somewhat, and you are left with the question-- top up, or top down? If a cover is tight enough that the mirror pockets really make sense, then it'll be tight enough to make a difference if your car has a low bow top, a high-bow top, is a narrow body, California body, or super-wide body. It'll be tight enough to risk a scratch every time you pull it on.

When I got mine 10 years ago, I just ordered one for a "356"-- coupe, cab, speedster... they really didn't care. It fits "OK" with the top up-- but is nice and thick, is loose enough to put on without scratching anything. It's worlds better than nothing.

Perhaps one day I'll go all OCD on this too (goodness knows I do it on everything else), but for now, it's fine as-is.
