Dana Point Concours - July 12th Dana Point

Sunday, July 12th at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott . This is a very nice show of Porsche 356 cars. I hope to see some SOC folk there. It is held at Lantern Bay Park overlooking Dana Yacht Harbor. A beautiful setting for a nice show.

This is a great showing of 356 P-cars! I've even had my car on the display grounds a few times. I'll see you guys there, but i'll just park my beater Rover on the street. We'll probably also see John Leader and his waaay cool black coupe at the show.

Chrissa and I had a lot of fun last year. Great location and one of the largest 356 gatherings.

And the best part is its on the grass and on a bluff maybe a couple of hundred yards from the ocean.

Should be in the mid 70's and below 50% humidity and sunny.

Probably ;-) That's why I have to fill in with his usual comment. It's supposed to be mid 90's and humid this weekend. Lovely July weather.

The people on Pelican are soooooooo much nicer. They don't flaunt all their C&C's, Exotic Shows, Fun Cruises, etc..... they just talk the boatloads of money they put into their cars. :) (just kidding)

You guys know this is always "home" for me. That said, it doesn't mean I still don't hate the left coasters. ;)

Parking availability at this event is sketchy. Probably would have to park the Speedsters down the hill somewhere on the street, typically about 1/2 mile away. That's why I'm taking my Rover, so that I can park with IMPUNITY!!!!

Vince, John Wilhoit is looking for a judge for the concours. I think you need to dust off the Straw Boater and tie and give the real 356 crowd the benefit of Dr. Demanto as judge. Check 356Talk.

They will be staging the cars Sunday morning beginning 07:00 with Judging starting at 09:00am. What do you say we meet at Harbor House for breakfast at 08:00am and then cruise over to the showgrounds.

...uh, late post! I forgot to mention our buddy Dave O'Brien made the trek from San Diego to hook up with us at the Concourse. Good to see ya Dave - wish you & Chrissa were joining us in Solvang!

Super day at Dana Point. Got to see lots of SOC friends and nice cars. That Outlaw with the Turbo VW motor was my fave.

Great to see everybody, Sunday.
My fav was meeting Dirk? the maker of the outlaw badges. A very cool guy who had a very nice 356 coupe with some good "wabi". He told me that his ride had been snubbed at previous P meets as being not correct/whatever and that he really had fun at the VW classic this year and liked the VW people. But the P people at this meet were very nice.
As I looked at his interior I noticed he had put a Wolfsburg badge on his glove box. Loved it.

Sorry I missed Desi's burn out.
