I'm thinking of installing some daytime running lights. Presently, I have a set of large Bosch fog lights, but I think they're serious overkill as running lights, and may annoy oncoming motorists.
Now, before I get a lot of responses such as "why do you need daytime running lights" let me state that up in Canada most of the vehicles on our roads have daytime running lights, since it has been the law since 1990. I think that motorist (in Canada) have come to rely on identifying oncoming vehicles by their lights. I have to admit that when considering a vehicle pass, while driving in Canada, I look down the road for oncoming lights.
Originally, I wasn't a fan of daytime running lights, but I am now, and I've ordered a set for my (new to me) 1986 Westy.

I'm also considering ordering a set for my IM. When I get the set for my Westy I'll put them under the IM's front bumper to see how they look. My initial thought is 2012 lights on a 1960's car won't work, but a number of members on this forum are putting LEDs in their tail lights, so maybe it will work.
Stay tuned.

My parking lights come on when my foglights are on, and I have zinc chromate paint in the headlight buckets. With the headlights off, the buckets are still illuminated, so I have 'running lights' of sorts.

Ordinarily, I just drive with the headlights on regardless of time of day, but if it's foggy out, I don't have light thrown back at me from the headlights. It truly makes a difference, and was easy to wire.
