Dead Pedal

Hi Bob...My guess is that you will have to make a wedge to install between the rest and that angled part. Angling it like that will bring it closer to your clutch pedal and may interfere occasionally. Try cutting a piece of hardwood into a wedge and mount it that way first to see if you're OK with it. If so, then cut a nice aluminum wedge.

One person bought my peg and did this and was happier with it being parallel to his pedals, both for use and appearance.   Plus he still could fold it up out of the way in city driving.............Bruce

Hey Bob, I'll take some pics of the dead pedal I installed in Penny. Simple and cheap and solid. Been there for 10 years, tres ergonomica.

Thanks, Bruce. I really like what you have created, all of it! My feet are kind of a mess and I can't tolerate anything pressing across the bottom of my foot like that. I'm good when the pressure is distributed across the whole foot, just not in a small area. Weird, but I own it. Advanced maturity sucks!

I made my dead pedal from a scrap piece of Aluminum diamond plate with a couple of bends to make tabs to then bolt it to the frame to the left of the regular pedals.  I'm going out there now to shovel snow    so I'll snap a photo an post it.  Stay tuned....

Here you go, Bob. Used an alloy brake/clutch pedal cover and a 2 inch metal angle brace. Pretty simple:

The carpet is wearing a bit where my shoe rubs against it but not bad for 62,000+ miles on her.

I probably need to get in there and clean up a little bit...

Here you go, Bob, from Pearl's winter cocoon.

Piece of aluminum diamond plate (the pattern is lost in the light glare from my Mega-Lumens LED light that Santa brought me) bought at Home Depot, screwed to a bracket made from a piece of light steel angle iron.  You can't see the bracket from the seating positions.

I made my dead pedal out of a clutch pedal.

If you have big feet your out of luck  There is no room for a third pedal, never mind a dead one.
