Burak ~

I recently "Grafted" another Engine Deck Lid to my CMC.

The retrofit wasn't even "Close". Dimentions were totally "Off"; primarly to the Body being pulled from a mold that was probably slightly "Different" to begin with.

So ~ it is possible to do what you are asking about but be prepared to "Streach and Form" the Deck Lid to fit the couverature of the Body and then fid the cavity of the inner lip where the deck lid settles into place.

You may want to "Reconsider" this notion unless you have very good metal working skills, Fabrication and Painting skills.

Good Luck ~

I got a fibergalls Carrera lid from an SOC member that also did not fit my IM. The curvature at the leading/top edge was of with the edges sticking up about 1/2 inch either side.

I used an electric battery blanket across the top, some wooden supports under the middle and then clamps on either end. Plugged int he 75 watt battery blanket and then used the clamps to pull down the edges. Set an old chunk of carpet over the battery blanket and let it cook for while then unplugged the battery blanket. The heat was enough to soften the fiberglass and I was able to get the curvature much closer.

Won't work for a metal one though. I did try an original metal single grille deck lid from a speedster once and it would not fit my IM without work.
