I am building a CMC. The instructions require that you cut the inner section of of the Engine Lid to fit the screen. The problem is that the screen is larger than the inner scection. In Fact if I cut it anymore, I will take the lip off, and not be able to screw it in place.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

By screen you mean the rear engine grill? The one from CMC is one piece cast alloy - often called a hibachi grill. Sounds like you have another manufacurer's or OEM grill. They are 1/4" larger and require the entire opening to be enlarged and the liner to be reattached. The CMC hibachi grill slides right in - tight fit with not even enough room for a rubber gasket. See attached photos.
