Finally solved my deck lid release issue, whereas the lid would not always pop open. I drilled a hole in the latch lever and attached a spring and now it opens every time

I was thinking of doing something like this on front and back lids.
I think it's a slick idea.

MikelB thats a great idea !!! Im off to the hardware tomorrow to do what you did Thanks a million for posting
What size strut, and lbs. rated? For example; 16" and 20lbs.
Thanks
Art I haven't done the struts yet to mine, it's just a idea I'm toying with.
the video has no info but if I decide to go this route I will let you know, I know the front will need two struts just because I don't trust one strut to do the job or you could do it first and let me know what size.
Jeffrey;
I searched this site and found one spec. But it doesn't look right compared to the youtube example. TOKICO # y2512. Overall length, 12.0 inches, compressed length 8.3 inches. 41 pounds. That seems to be shorter than the one on the youtube flic.
I am sure some here has done this successfully. Perhaps they'll chime in.

Well I posted on the video and got this for a response.
C16-09202, 16” extended length, 38lbs of pressure.
Sounds like he is a member of the forum and I need to do a search and read more.
Oh he also gave me his email for any further questions, what a nice guy.
