Deck lid strut | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

On the Intermeccanica is there an easy way to replace the strut on the deck lid? The strut goes through the firewall and I don't seem to have easy access.

Just curious....does the strut go right through the firewall and attach to the back of the rear seat "wall / tub" ?
