Delorto Jet Doctors

Hey...... Corey...... Wolfgang..... Anybody..... I bought a set of Delorto jet doctors, and I'm puzzled about installing the "tiny" lead plugs (?) They appear to be too small.... So do you remove the carb tops and do this on a bench, or can it be done on the car??? Real fumble fingers want to know..... How do you secure the "plugs"..... Instructions were very minimal.

I have these on my dells in the 914. The jet doctors can be installed while in the car. The lead balls are to be smashed into the stock idle intake holes. Will try to take a pic after work for you.

"Smashed" is a rather descriptive word, isn't it?

It's more like "Drop the ball into the passage, then, using a small punch and a small hammer tap the top of the ball to flatten it slightly to (a.) close the passage and (b.) peen the lead ball oblong to make it "stick" into the passage."

There......sounds less destructive that way, doesn't it?

Yes, that's true.

Using the slammer that Lane has left over from removing the wheels on his Austin might be a bit of overkill......
