Is your mechanic OK?
What a Christmas present for the mechanic! Is he OK?
How fast was the SUV going and what does the car look like?
Dang - Fire that Santa! Glade all are ok. You just got that Speedie and still were experiencing teething issues.
Sorry about that, Jerry...a completely different kind of madness.
That's terrible but hopefully all are okay. The steering wheel looks to be bent to the drivers side - probably from your mechanic holding on.
No matter how careful you are, there's still too many other driver's out there that either aren't good drivers or aren't paying attention to what they are doing. Next time you're at a stoplight, take a look around at the other drivers and see how many of them are texting or doing something with their "smart phone". It's ridiculous! I'm sure it wasn't the case with your accident but I can't believe how many people text and drive. It's most likely worse than drunk driving.
Sorry for ranting but I see too much of it anymore and think that something should be done to stop it.
Happy Holidays and good luck with your hunt for a new Speedster!
Jimmy
I think I should put my bumpers back on.
does anybody have a jps subie powered car---I need your advice
Sorry to hear the bad news, but am glad your mechanic will survive. Good luck in your quest for a replacement ride
Posting a photo might give us idea if it could be fixed. Often shattered fiberglass pieces look far worse than damage actually is. You could buy it back at salvage value and have it repaired. Just a thought.
thanks- I have been an auto damage appraiser for 37 years--trust me its toast-the chassis is buckled all the way back to the seats- just for starters--but I appreciate the input
I'm really sorry about what happened to your car Jerry. I know you were working hard on it to make it just the way you wanted it. I was thinking about asking you how you came out with the backfire problem but I guess that isn't too important now. Hope.the mechanic heals up OK.
Maybe you can find a car close to what you want that is used and you won't have to wait so long. Frank
Sorry to hear this; tough break. I hope your mechanic is ok and you bounce back. Al
Sad to hear about your mechanic and car in the accident, Jerry! Glad to hear he was not more seriously injured.
Do a search on the 'Members' tab for Tom Murtaugh (SoCal). He has a very nice Subie-powered JPS!

sorry to hear about your car, at least you were not in it. hope your mechanic is ok.
good luck in the quest for the new ride.
WOW HOW CRAZY. CANT GO WRONG WITH A JPS
how about Steve's specialty auto mid engine subie speedster --anyone have one--1.5 to 2 year wait-sounds like a much better car for very reasonable money, but the wait is insane--except his wide body is not as wide as the super widebody from Kirk which I am partial to--the more I look the more confused I get---
Jerry--brace yourself becsude You're gonna get an earfull.
I'll start with saying that the SAS cars are works of art and the most like a real car as opposed to a toy.
Go mto their tab at the top marked "makers". Great website.
Jerry;
There is a standard JPS speedster on Ebay. It was one of Troy's, thus it is well sorted out. Silver with tan interior, 654 miles.
Jerry,
The wait for a SAS car is 6-7 years, not 1.5-2 years. The owner of the car that should be starting now joined the queue in 2008. His car may be done in 2014. My car was the only car built by SAS in 2013. The next two guys on the list joined in 2007.

Yes, it was one of mine and it's not a bad car, but I also have a green JPS Superwide body with less than 3,000 miles on it and a 2332 engine and dual 44 Webers. Sweet car that should be on eBay next week.

Well, there you go Jerry, a well sorted wide body.
troy--can you send me pics and info--maybe you wont have to go EBAY -- jfreeman65@optonline.net
Jerry - I'll also vouch for Troy's eye for detail and work ethic! You can't go wrong with a car that's been sorted by Troy! He's also a pretty cool guy to hang with!
Jerry.
I'm just got the A1 Sidewinder and muffler back from being ceramic coated and will be putting them back in the car today. Tomorrow I am planning to do the drive video that I always do and take pictures, but I will email you a couple of lower quality cell phone pictures right now
As you know, these cars have been bumping up to the $30,000 range recently but I will have it on eBay priced at $25,000.
Here are some of the details.

Brand new CB Performance Panchito CNC ported heads, (61cc chambers 9to1 ratio) dual springs and swivel feet rockers
Ibeam connecting rods with ARP bolts

can we assume this tub has an external oil cooler and filter, a motor this size needs both.....

Thanks Vince for reminding me. It does have an external oil filter and a front mounted oil cooler. It also has 4 wheel discs and IRS suspension.
A front mounted oil cooler-that's rare.
