I photographed some of the cars because I liked them and others because they were weird.

Wild show!
What an amazing collection of cars.
I loved them all, but especially the pepto-pink chopped Chevy van. I'd want it in white (of course), but stupid-cool.
Thank you, @Michael McKelvey!
The photos covered only a small percentage of cars there. For some reason, there was a large number of '60s Lincolns.
I pretty much didn't photograph cars from the '60s and newer.
There was an MG replica. There was no mention of it being a replica and there was a big display board with the history of MG.
This bothered me a bit.

I know they aren't for everybody, but for for some of us-- the "Kennedy Convertible" Lincolns represent a highwater mark of American industrial might, and are exceedingly cool in all their wretched excess. Suicide doors, tufted everything, giant V8s, exceedingly floaty ride, top with eleventy-billion moving parts that stows in the trunk.
A '63 Continental was 17'9" long. By '67 (the last year for the 4-dr. 'vert, unless I'm mistaken) they were 18'4". They'd grow to over 20 ft long by '69. For sake of reference, my 6 dr 2005 Cadillac limo is just over 21 ft long - meaning that a 4 dr Lincoln from 1969 was almost as long as a limousine from 36 years later.
I'd love one, but everything would need to work, and I'm not sure such an animal can be had for anything short of "Kennedy money".
I am guessing that there might have been about 30 of the Lincolns, maybe more, all in a line.
It looks like I should have photographed some of them.

My CIA, I mean State Department, uncle had one in the mid-60s. We called him Wild Bill and he always had the cars to go with the moniker.
My hometown, The Motor City! Miss going to these while growing up in the "D."
Thanks, Mike....large. What I find beautiful is that a lot of us are old enough to remember Ed Roth and many other rad rod builders in the old days. I'm very impressed and pleased that people younger than us are continuing ( moving forward ) and going onward building outstanding cars. New tech with old school look. I hope that never ends.
I'm envious, Michael. I haven't been to a big indoor show like that in a loooooong time.
Great Michael !! Thanks for sharing the photo's of the show. Good to see my hot rod buddy Jon Hall's car in the mix. Great guy and wonderfull builder from Saginaw, MI
Jon owns Shadow Rods, Motor City Flatheads, and a company that build all the SS back bars and restaurant equipment for Las Vegas to Dubai.

When I first posted this I wondered if it would get moved here.
I still think of Events as something that will happen after the initial posting and that others may participate in.
My God!! what a show. Sensory overload. I did especially like the FASTCAT -- very red Jag. Perhaps it was almost lost amidst all that Detroit iron. Lots of talent on display there and crazy gorgeous paint.
I liked the Fastcat too.
I hadn't been to this show since 2019 because of Covid.
What engine was in that Jag-u-are?
I don't know what the Jag engine is. I should have asked the owner.
@Michael McKelvey Thanks for sharing those cool pics, Michael! One of my favorites was the chopped-top Mercury. I would definitely roll in that bad boy!
Everyone loves a "low rider"....
