Profile kinda-sorta looks like a Queen Brown Ant, doesn't it?
Too bad, too, as the front-on nose pic and the rear end pic show a great looking car, classically styled.
It's just that huge humpy thing in the back, tho........
I really like it. Looks great in silver.
The silver looks okay with the twin racing wind screens or even the single racing type wind screen but I think the windshield that's on this one looks awful.
That windshield looks like its off a small boat. Windshield dimensions are wrong for that body style.
But that is correct for the car. I've seen others like that and agree it's out of proportion.
The height difference between the front and rear of the car is awkward although I still like it. If the front fenders and doors were a couple of inches higher the whole car would be better balanced, IMHO.
The "baby poop" brown just doesn't look right - German Racing silver or white would be more complementary to body style.
Does it look better with top up?
Hey Jim et al, I would not be surprised at all if that windshield actually came from a boat supply company. Given the time the Devin was created, that would have been a readily available solution!
It was also common to use the windshields or rear windows of American cars and trucks, sometimes inverted from the "normal" position. I recall a period kit car that required the use of an inverted 57 Chevy truck windshield. Might have been a LaDawri that used that window. I know Kellison used 64 Vette windshields in at least two of his kits. At the time these items were common and easy to obtain. Not so much anymore but they are still out there assuming you could figure out exactly what model was needed.
