I was digging into my oil pressure problem today.I redid all the cooler lines last weekend. The good news is it isn't as high as once thought.
The bad news is it's still a tad high. The dual sender was for the light and a 0-80 gauge. I have a 0-100 gauge. I first connected a SunPro mechanical gauge and got 40 at idle and 60-70 past 3000rpm. Keeping in
mind the engine wasn't fully warmed up it may ease off a little. I then put in the correct VDO sender for the gauge and it confirmed the
mechanical gauge readings. Problem is there's no pole for the light. Ill
have to check into a dual sender but I'm not sure they make one for my gauge range w/light.
Question is, is it still dangerously high or should I try one of those adjustable oil pressure fittings that CB Perf. sells.
BTW, I have 10/40 oil in it now as opposed to the 20/50 when the spewage
happened.

George: My Bentley Manual came today. Finally got one and if any of us spend any $$ on our car, get one of these! Really in depth about everything. It states the relief spring should be 2.6" or 62-64mm.long.
My spring is a tad over 3" long! Hmmmm. The local VW guy gave me some springs to play with. I just may shorten one to spec to see what happens.

PS I shortened a spring to spec and sure 'nuff I got 25 lbs hot at idle
and around 50 or so at 3500 rpm. I think Ill try this for awhile. I guess with the long spring I was getting no by-pass at all.(or very little)
