Built in 2006? Not sure I'd drive faster than 60 MPH on 10 year old rubber.
So what's wrong with this?
- Totally reconditioned 1973 VW Chassis with 4 lug IRS
– SC Suspension (converted back to 4 lug VW wheels?)
– Tubular Chassis (where the VW chassis go?)
Well, if your interested in Subie engines... Outfront motor sports a company I talked to in the past I believe is doing a lot of these engines... Have a look below.
I drove IN a vehicle with that engine, but did not drive it myself. It was a LOT of power in a car that size... I was looking for a weekend cruiser, not a racer, so i went with the smaller Suby.
Can't remember his name but he had a wild HP Soob in his car at Carlisle a couple of years ago and asked me if I'd like to take it up the side road from the Marriott Courtyard where we now do Carlisle.
The car accelerated like stink, handled very well on a bumpy straight road and took very little time to get where I wanted to slow down. The thing was nuts for power. A great measuring stick to which I can only aim towards and fully understand I will not ever come close to. I'm ok with that too... :-)
David - Are you talking about the white one (Clint Owings) or the green one (Peter Venuti? Clint's was an automatic with a red interior.
Pretty sure Peter's car is black. Also, it's not a turbo. The green wide body was a wild turbo like Clints.
Marty is correct.
Peter's car is black...Seductive black and very, veeeery smooth, and as I learned from experience the car you want to stay close to in a caravan!!!
You're right. I was thinking of the metallic green SAS that was here several years ago. SOmehow I mixed that one up with Peter. Anybody remember that guy's name?

That was Clint's....the white one. Crazy power.

Chris something?
You know, the interesting thing about Peter Venuti's car (yes, it's black), is that he bought a finished roller from Henry at IM, with the intention of fitting a specific (EJ-22?) Subaru engine to it, so Henry did a lot of the prep work and Peter added the engine once the car was delivered. He drives it in all kinds of heat/cold, does turnpike speed +10 in 90+ degree heat (with the AC on) and I've never heard of any overheating issues.
Whatever he did during that build, he certainly did right.
I've driven Peter's car a couple of "parade laps" at Limerock 2 years ago. It's very smooth and whatever the hp is, it's all a "normal" person would need. But then again, we're not all "normal".
Rob was the owner of the green SAS turbo with the WRX engine. He was from Michigan and I am stuck for his last name.
Rob! That's it. He sold that, didn't he?
For lane and Hoss (and most of the rest of us, too.....)
Rob's car was for sale but I do not know the final disposition. I drove it once and noticed that it didn't have much low end grunt but took off like a scared rabbit when the turbo spooled up.
That is a typical experience I owned cars with turbos and it's not an affect i enjoy
