Hi,

Could anyone offer some assistance with a few basic dimensions, I need to do some final spot checks before taking hold of my replica 1957 speedster. Refer to the uploaded attachment. Thanks

A= outer edge of headlight chrome rim to the outer edge of the turn signal lamp

B= Lower edge of engine bay opening to the inner screws of the teardrop taillights

C= Lower edge of engine bay opening to the center of the rear reflectors

D= Lower edge of engine bay opening to the upper edge of the Shine up reverse light

E= (E,F,G...this might be a tall order as many replica speedster don't have this inner side member arrangement)

F=

G=

Here is what I have:

A= 2 inches and the centerline of the directional lens lines up with the C/L of the headlight

B = 10-3/4 inches

C - I don't have those reflectors but in America they were dealer added and centered between the top of the bumper and the tail light or, if the car had bumper over rider bars they were centered between the top of the bumper and the over rider.

D = 14 inches

What is the part(s) included in "E,F,G?  I can not understand what it is referring to.

Great drawing, btw.

Thank you I will appreciate it very much.

As for the drawing E,F,G this is a cross section  of the inner side member I think that is what it is called.

This might be asking to much, many replicas don't have this setup,most are just square tubing.I am hoping someone might assist.

Refer to the attachment this should clarify matters.

Thank you for the dimensions this is very helpful

My front turn signal lights are definitely way out-at least by a inch.

I do apologize for not mentioning earlier, the pic showing the inner side member is from a original speedster.

I am currently converting my speedster to look more authentic the builder in South Africa uses a smaller tubing thus allowing me to fit bent sheet metal from the door to the floor without sacrificing seat clearance to sill.

This is why I would like those dimensions refer to the attachment of my speedster before paint.

Manny,

I like the profound inspirational quote you signed off with...but in my experience maybe a more realistic variation would be:

"To contemplate the impossible, one must think absurd; to look where everyone else has looked... and come conclusion that for practicality it truly is absurd"

Accepting the Tried and True will usually get you through with far less angst!
