I saw these on amazon and was wondering if anyone has tried putting these inside the seats with some perforated leather or even cloth? Seems interesting.

I think heated seat warmers inside the seats are well worth the effort. I can't see how these would be worth the effort. Fabric seats just don't look right in a Speedster. You need those tacky car seat beads! With top down you have 360 degrees of cooling.
For when my wife rides along on cool days, I got a 12-volt electric blanket at Wal Mart. I think they cost around $30. I would just plug it into the auxiliary power outlet I installed under the dash. Worked very well and kept her nice & warm.

If you have that auxiliary power outlet, just use this instead
What are the specs on that heater?

1500 watt el cheapo $30 at Home Depot types places or hardware stores. A little 2 sided velcro to keep it from tipping over and voila.....you have heat
125 Amps?? Whoa. Or did an extra zero sneak in there?

I followed Jim's lead on this and had Henry add an extra socket in the passenger compartment when we were building my car. Of course, having heated seats with three settings also helps a lot.
The blanket even looks cool. I was more curious about the ventilated part of the seat.
I have seen aftermarket kits that have essentially a heating ' cooling element and ductwork... and can be installed. BUT, the kit requires enough foam to install small fans and a heat element and then the surface must be porous. Doable in some cars for sure but not others.

Thats what makes these so interesting. They dont have the fans stuck in foam. There is a fan on the bottom hanging and they must connect to cooling strips.

Don't bother John. That electric heater may give a slight warm breeze in California. But it won't do squat on the east coast......
You don't have the amps to get meaningful heat, so don't bother. Trust me, do the math......I've gone over this many times.

This is also the route I took for my wife. Plug it in a few minutes before we take off and it works great. On the West Coast we don't need mega-heat like the East Coasters.
They also make 12 V electric heating pads if you don’t have heated seats. That, and the electric blanket, and my wife is pretty comfortable.
I've used an electric vest for years on both my motorcycle and my roadster. The wife likes to crawl into a mummy bag with the vest on while in the car. She is out of the wind and her hair still looks great when we get where we are going. Stuff the mummy bag into its stuff sack and all is well for storage. Works for me ......
For years I used an electric suit on my motorcycle. Jacket, pants and gloves all with separate heating control. Now I wish I hadn't given them away.

I use that exact combination now in the late Fall here. Hugely expensive for what amounts to a wind breaker with electric blanket wires running through them but as it extends the riding season, totally worth it

Phil: You could really use that suit for your new ride. I don't imagine there is much heat in a 550, is there?
Depends on the 550, Bob.
Mine has a Webasto and carbon element seat heaters, and soon a top with plexi windows. Toasty!
Phil has a Subaru so could easily throw in a heater core, fan, and a couple hoses back to the engine........Subys have GREAT heat!
I’ve got heated seats but no blown heat. Really thinking about heated suit.
