Hi there,

I'm in the process of building a Chesil Speedster with IRS and am currently working on the rear suspension.

I was wondering if someone could let me know whether it's necessary to change the rear torsion BARS from my donor chassis?

I'm not sure whether these parts suffer wear and are therefore likely to be less effective on my car. Is it okay to reuse the items from my donor chassis?

Thanks,

John

EDIT: that should be torsion BARS not arms - the tubes that slide inside the chassis and attach to the spring plates!

Personaly I would use good brakes on a car.......;-)

BTW the inside and outside splines are different. Sometimes you can just rotate one end but to split things you need to change the placement on both the inner and outer splines. A protractor and level works fine to keep them the same on both sides. Measure the setting first if you can......;-)

Cheers!
