Just watched the movie last night....sure looks like an Intermeccanica emblem on the hood - has a diagonal slash across the emblem and the rear wheel wells are flattened at the top.

In the movie, he ran off the road trying to avoid some cows and took out a picket fence (which, on replay, caused no damage to the front end - hmmmmm.......) and then, at the end of the movie, the car was T-boned by an 18-wheeler after he stopped to help a woman in labor in her car. His car has a radio in the lower dash section too, which the one in the ad doesn't have. Speaking of that lower dash section, I guess that would eliminate any CMC's, wouldn't it? (along with their rounded rear wheel wells).

Come to think of it, you HEAR the radio, and you see him apparently tuning it (just before he avoids the cows) but you never actually SEE it as the camera is just showing him.

Kind of like you hear John Leader, but you never actually SEE him!!!

The wonders of movie-making and audio illusions.

P.S: Kathy and I swear that "Grady, South Carolina" in that movie is where we're moving to in Port Royal, SC - the town is that nice...
They've been selling that car for a while; even listing it on ebay. They were asking around $21,000.00 (it says 22k in the ad but I'm pretty sure you can get it for 21k) for it which is not a bad deal considering that the car has some nice touches like the original 356 steering wheel, shifter & instrument cluster. Only things I don't like are the color of the convertible top and the weird headrests on the seats. The exhaust looks like an outlaw type stinger as was used on racing Porsches and VW's.

In the movie they used several cars and I recall in the opening shots you can see the front badge which looks like an Intermec. One of the cars had 4 bolt wheels and another one (I suspect the cut up original 356) had the wide fives. I also noticed that the dash cluster layout is different in all the cars. In the scene where he's twiddling the radio he's got 4 chrome gauges and three black ones in the rest. Also the door panels (in terms of color) are different in all the cars and you'll be able to notice it in the movie if you look close enough.

Also, as a curious note; have you noticed in the scene where he hops in the car one night to leave town that when he backs up to help the lady in labor on the side of the road one of his wiper arms is falling off the car? Check it out!!.....
