Four different Speedster replicas were used in the movie, "Doc  Hollywood".  One perfect, one in pieces for the garage scenes, one messed up in the front for thee fence crash scene and one other.  I almost bought one that was in Texas---don't know which one it was, red like all the others , but it was in the dead of winter and had no top so I chickened out of the freezing drive from Texas to Hot Springs, AR.

It would have been fun to own one of the Doc Hollywood cars but I wasn't up to the challenge.  I'm happy with what I have for my Speedster bat least this is a neat story to tell.

I thought the one for the accident was a (real) cut down coupe?

That’s what I heard/read, Al.  You can tell it was metal by the after crash scene.

Doc Hollywood inspired to become the Speedsterholic that I am today.  Bought my first Intermeccanica from a guy on this site out of Detroit soon after seeing the movie via video.  Sold it soon after, because a 1600 cc engine wouldn’t get me far, but I learned what I liked and what I didn’t.

Great movie with a great Canadian actor.
