I`m thinking of bying it. Actually i drive a Lotus Super seven which i Sale next week (http://web.me.com/opfeil/Irwins_VM_77/Fotos.html)

This is the 356 --> http://home.mobile.de/home/showDetails.html?id=140284218&customerIdsAsString=462073&__lp=4&scopeId=AV&sortOption.sortBy=makeModelDescriptionSortField&sortOption.sortOrder=ASCENDING&damageUnrepaired=ALSO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&export=ALSO_EXPORT&grossPrice=true&customerIdsAsString=462073&lang=de&pageNumber=1&partnerHead=true&showZip=false&showModels=false&hideVehicleType=false

Welcome, Irwin. I don't speak German, but I did see this sentence "wurde in USA vermtl. bei der Fa.Vintage gebaut", which leads me to believe that it is a Vintage, produced in California. Quite a few members of this site own cars by Vintage, and they are known for good customer service. Still, it is difficult to tell from only the front picture. More pictures, particularly of the engine and interior would be helpful.

Now how did that become a double post?
Yes I'd say it's a CMC Kit, but it appears to be done up nicely. The engine bay could use a little sprucing up. The floor mounted dimmer is right out of the CMC Build manual and the use of Porsche 914 gauges indicate CMC. Unless dokumentes are provided, it's anyone's guess who built this car. As for price($28,300US), I don't know what the market kommands in Germany. It would sell for about 1/2 that here in the US.

Irwin:

Don't apologize for your english. I can't speak a word of German and halfway through some Saturday nights I can't speak english either.

Commission drclock to build you a car the way you want it. I hear that half the stuff he has built has gone back to Europe. Maybe you can buy the red one he is finishing up!

I was too late to buy his last black beauty that took a boat trip to your part of the planet last year.

Good luck!
thank you all for your help!

actually i`m not shure about buying a car in the states.. it may be a hazzle with customs duty and to get the vehicles`inspection sticker - and the certificate that it is an "oldtimer" (which is needed, to save taxes).

i like the shape of the widebody. i probably would take off the bumpers and change the color to a matt grey.

unfortunately the company who sells it could not tell me anything about the tuning of the engine, about the gear box or which axles in the back (pendulum axle oder semi-trailed axle?) (here my english definetely comes to the border... :-)

to have the possibility to change the engine (maybe to a 2.1l Type 1 oder to a Typ 4 enginge) it need the semi trailed axle (i gues from a 1303 oder an old 1200 wir automatic-gearbox) built in.

i`ll guess i have to check it threre (it`s about 600km to drive..)

thanks again - and if you have any further tipps, don`t hesitate to post them here.

cheers from cologne, germany.
