Cory,
Ahhh, I get it now. You are definitely not a mechanic, but sounds like you will be someday . . .
So what about putting in the chromealloy (?) P-rods? Do you consider that an option? they seem to work really well in my car, and many engines here have them, far as i can tell. Can't be REAL expensive to swap 'em out, eh? . . .
And how about a driving impression w/ new bearings/seals/bushing at front end, and tight splines on the back end now -- and also brakes that work? Sounds like you changed a lot, and all to the good.

Kelly, knock on wood, I think all the bugs are just about worked out.
I don't know for sure, but so far it seems like the back half is pretty well dialed in. Now, a little routine maintenance on the bushings in the beam up front, and she'll be a completely different car than what she started out as.
Tha ms for asking.
When I drove her home from Peek last week, I found the drive itself to be pretty unexciting -- mechanically, anyway.
Naturally, it's always a good time to mash the button and drive that thing. In the rain is even more of a hoot; I'm very glad she's got a better braking system now.

Water(rain) on the brain? IMMEDIATELY replace the water with beer, then things will be right again!
Chromoly is good, but if the car is set up for aluminum, and they aren't mushroomed like mine did, leave them alone. They are lighter and quieter. Now that Cory knows how to adjust them, he'll be alright...........
In my case, 6500 rpm and 1.5:1 ratio rockers didn't quite mix! Chromoly RULES in my engine.

There are arguments made on both sides of the ball on this, but for me and my use- I think CRMO is the only way to fly.
Yeah, they're noisier (if you've got straight cut cam gears it's just one more noise)- but they'll lift pretty much any rocker with any cam, and they're way easier to adjust properly. "Loose zero" is pretty darned easy.

I am with you Stan, but I was just saying that Cory's ain't broke, so no need to "fix" it.

I don't think I'll be doing too much to it from here on out. I'll be upgrading the head pieces over the winter, and I'll probably be tinkering with the front end in the near future, but I believe I'm out of the woods on needing to make drastic changes to anything.
I would like to be able to finally knuckle down on the windshield and a bimini top, maybe a heater like Danny's got and maybe an anti-sway bar.
After that, it's paint. Paint, paint, paint. Paint. In about a year, maybe.

Paint? Whaddaya want with paint for?
At one point you were talking about covering the diamond plate floors because of the heat and glare. Any more thoughts on that?

Nope. After my little suare in the rain the other day, I remembered why the diamond plate was a good idea.
It's not too difficult to wash the car right now. Garden hose cleans everything.

C'est: "soir
Roger that, Cory. Some removable floor mats might solve the glare problem.
... and if he really does have the aluminum p-rods w/ exhaust lashes set at 0.003" vs. 0.006", I'd advocate a change. You REALLY do not want to burn an exhaust valve. then we really are talking about some added noise. IMHO.
