Get one of these!!!

Forgot i had this (Christmas present from my wife). Sound is GREAT, charge lasts a loooooog time and it fits perfect. One hidden piece of velcro on the bottom and done.

Big band music in an old car on Memorial Day weekend. Perfect!

Model is not listed on the unit. Hmmmm...

There are two sizes. This is the bigger one. Small one is the size of a pop can.

My phone is smart......me, not so much. Thanks for the tip, Marty!

I've  railed against being a prisoner of a cell phone because I didn't feel the need or have the desire to be constantly in touch with anybody or anything.

The past few months have driven me into a "tech tailspin" as I've joined my bride in the real estate business. Like the business, hate the fact that I am now like so many others, tied to my phone and my computer. The difference is that I call people and resort to texting only when I have to, or at a clients request. People seemed surprised to get actual live phone calls.

I am officially a dinosaur.

Cool speaker, nice, simple set up!!

No, Bob....It is not a “smart phone”.  Up heah, it is called. “Smot Phone”.

Embrace technology as your friend.  I was a late adopter of so-called “Beepers” but an early adopter of cell phones because they just made sense, compared to ridiculous beepers.  “Younger” people today (and that is anyone under 50 years old) “text”.  My 38 year old daughter seemingly does not know how to use use her “smot phone” as an actual telephone - all she does is text us.  If we call her she doesn’t seem to know how tomaccept the call.  I don’t think she actually knows how to use her device as a conduit of spoken words.  REALLY!

So get wit da times, my fren.   Learn how’da text and join da 21’st century!  You’re gonna luv it!

So, how does this thing work when you're on the road at speed?

I did about the same thing a few years back, but hid the speaker up under the dash (link to the post). It sounds great sitting in the driveway with the motor off, but on the road with the top down, wind and engine noise kind of drown it out, so I hardly use it.

Also, the app Marty mentions gets radio feeds through the internet, so it works only when you've got a cell signal.

My wife and I have a Bose SLIII we connect via Bluetooth to our phones.  We’ve been using it in the yard since last summer and about two months ago it occurred to us we can charge it up and hit the road with some great tunes!  It has a great sound and is surprisingly clear.  We even take the cord and use it if we end up staying over night some place.

I agree; don’t cut the dash or door cards!

Not to mention you have ZERO drain on the car battery if you use a similar system...

You can hear it pretty good even going at 70mph. It isn’t going to win any awards for audio quality, but you can hear it and sing along if your jam comes on.  With the speaker close to you and your ears I suspect you can hear it better than if you had it down by your feet.

However, if you do come to a stoplight turn it down as you dont want to be “that guy”.

My car is louder than many (my muffler is a trimill where i cut off and welded up the twin outlets, then cut it open and added a single 3" center outlet). I also used to make a good chunk of my living as a touring musician (so i am kinda picky). It sounds absolutely perfect for this car, and i was able to hear just fine.

Yes, the stock system in my daily driver would crush it. But a system like that in a "vintage" car wouldn't really "fit", in my opinion.

Spyders don't have that room in between the seats, but I like that you guys use them. My kids have the JBL flip 3 as well, and for the money, the sound quality is hard to beat.

I used to wear active noise-reducing earbuds, but they're not comfortable after a while. Michelle can't wear them at all, so I started looking for a solution that would work for us.

I bought a couple Polk Audio indoor/outdoor patio speakers(black finish of course) and an Audiopipe mini 100w RMS x 2 amp(https://www.ebay.com/i/183136356070?chn=ps ). I spent about 200 bucks, plus another 20 for a Bluetooth receiver. Amp is under the dash and invisible, with an 8 gauge power lead back to the battery. Speakers are also under the dash, mounted to the frame, and pointing up from the footwell toward your ears. Sound is excellent, but the bass does get lost above 70 mph.

Like Scott says, the sound system in my daily will definitely beat this. But for the price AND the removability(is that even a word?) it checks the boxes for Michelle and I.
