Hi, need some help installing the door striker higher, using the pre-cut bracket vintage speedsters use, it is currently below the center of the door, and when rising it to the top, the push lever mechanism that opens the lock is too high for the door handle, I can probably invert the RH to the LH but then the brackets won’t fit… anyone has an idea how it is done? Pics attached.

Did you cut 1/2 of latch piece off per FF/CMC build manual? See your 3rd photo.

No I haven’t cut the lock piece. I see a long fork shaped piece is needed, do you have more info on that piece? I wonder how the bottom of that piece is, I was thinking on something like that, but base will need to be wide enough so it doesn’t bend when the button is pushed
I see it’s a rod that runs from the bottom of the door and meets the door handle in the middle… is that rod available somewhere? Or I have to make it?
I've never seen piece available. If I recall - it's a 1/2" 12" long aluminum tube with a couple bends in it. Here it is in build manual.
Here's what it looks like in the door cavity -
Maybe someone has the piece uninstalled and can trace it on paper for you?

You might try asking the gang at Vintage Motorcars Inc. if they have one or two kicking around that they could spare, but it's just a piece of electrical conduit, bent just so and slotted on one end so everything lines up. Nothing really special and you could make up a couple in under an hour. I think it's 1/2" dia, but maybe @Alan Merklin could confirm that.
ACE hardware has the same 1/2" od tubing in the metal rack , I just cut a slice in the top and slightly pry it open, then a "S" bend in it and drill a hole for the all thread and carriage bolt w/ Nyloc nut at the base.
Excellent! Thank you very much! I will figure it out, that internal picture is of great help!
