I am thinking of lowering the rear of my CMC(1 inch). Will the door gap increase by doing that.I will also lower the front with adjustable beam. When I first bought the car,one side was lower than the other so I decided to make it level.I noticed the door gap changed just a bit.Has anybody had the same problem before?

CMC's are famous for "dropping or sagging backs" that develop with time. Those will definitely increase your door gap, especially at the top between the door and the back. Some of the forum members have experienced it and fixed it. If you're referring to just lowering the ride by adjusting your suspension; it shouldn't affect your door gap. May I suggest you get adjustable spring plates. Serrano's (a store that advertises on The Samba) has them for swingaxle and IRS suspensions for $85.00 per pair, which is a great deal; I got mine there. Adjusting the car's height with those is so easy and is done with only an Allen wrench.
Adjusting the ride height should not affect door gap alignment. The fiberglass body has a very solid steel perimeter frame build "into" it. Unfortunately, the securing of the rear fiberglass overhang is not very substantial. This causes the gap at top of doors to open up as the weight of the rear fiberglass causes the rivets to pull or shift in the fiberglass. Several members have documented how to jack it back up and securely attach to prevent reoccurance. Lowering the front or back suspension should have no impact though.
