My passenger side door lower corner sticks out 1/2" , but the rest of the gaps both horizontal and vertical are actually quite nice. What is the fix here? I can shim the upper door hinge and push in the door, then the top sticks out... So I'm
Not confident that just hanging the door any way will alleviate the problem. Ideas?

You are in the right area. (hinges) I had to play with the same problem for two days before I was satisfied with it.... Still out a little, but not scary.... I was thinking of splitting the door with a wedge shaped notch along the bottom and vertical (latch side) sides, pulling the panels into alignment and glassing them into position.... Whole lot of work.... Didn't think it worth the effort.
It was suggested that I sand off the backsides of the hinges on my doors in order to cure the gaps in them. I did that, a little at a time, and it came out acceptably well.

In the case of just the trailing edge at the bottom, I'd suggest taking the lower hinge to the belt sander and gently doing the same thing. Pack a lunch -- it'll be a long process.

I actualy had to do that on the driver side i didn't like the hinge tweeks and had to buy another lower hinge.. but i had to grind it on the inside with dremel style die grinder to rough it up around the cut a few inches in all directions so i could do a good reiforcing fiberglass relay on the inside after cutting it.

Dusty and messy but its strongly repaired.
Keith my car is CMC. here are the rest of the photo I have of how we made this door repair.
