Door Handles

The chrome has gone bad on my door handles.

I ordered replacements (just the castings) from Klasse.

They are different from my original CMC handles. The CMC handles are threaded for a big nut on the large end. The Klasse ones are not threaded.

Does anyone know if the Klasse handles can be made to work?

If not, are the handles from Vintage or JPS threaded?

Michael, not to jump the gun, but can I make you a reasonable offer for the old ones if the new ones work out?
Right now, I have band aluminum for door handles.

If you manage to score the old pitted handles, you've GOTTA sand 'em down, drill 'em out, and paint the little suckers body color, like these . . .

Hi Guys, if you're gonna paint up chromed or other hard smooth surfaces. I've used a product
recently that works great. It's called bulldog, sold at auto-body supply shops. Sticks to anything and provides a nice paintable surface.

Although it looks like the Vintage handles would match my old CMC handles, I would still like to know if there is a way to make the Klasse handles work since I just bought them.

I would be happy to donate my old handles to a worthy cause.

Bruce speaks the truth!

Even if you sand/scuff the chrome on the handles . . . . heck, even if you grind it all off . . . take his advice and use that Bulldog coating! It's WONDERFUL ! ! ! ! ! I've tried it on everything that I could think of and it seems to be just what's required. I even got some of the Krylon Fusion paint and used it along with the Bulldog to create a wide white wall on a test tire.

So far, so good. No cracking or yellowing at all. If it holds up driving through the spring, I'll do up a full set for Summer cruising. I also wanna try to paint up a set of thin line red walls mounted on my Empi Sprint Stars. Ought to look great on a black or anthracite painted car.

Can anyone tell me how the push buttons are held into the handle?

I am wondering if I would have trouble transferring them from the CMC handles to the Klasse handles.
