I mentioned in another post that I'm going to probably need new door latches. I was hoping to replace them with some higher quality ones that what are on the car now. Any suggestions? I've looked at a few web sites but they seem to mostly have new repro ones. Is there anyone making repro looking billet door handles or billet door handles that will fit?
I'm still not sure how to look up parts. Do I look for a specific year Volkswagen Beetle replacement or??????

Not sure which ones you are looking for - there is a thread here about the interior chrome door lever. BLUF was that SE had the strongest repro unit. I have seen billet ones that didn't look bad - not sure if the teeth strip or they easily bend though. I've not seen outside ones other than from current vendors (MG MAGIC still lists them). Latches are off a VW - at least on CMC.

The interior door handles were the first things I replaced when I bought my VS 5 years ago. I simply bought original 356 handles that were in decent shape off eBay. They were not cheap, but they do not bend.
