I have seen door pulls installed on the cars from IM (Bill Steele's for example) and am wondering if any are available other than the old ones made by Empi that are sill around and can be found on E-bay and Samba. I never have liked pulling on the door handle or the door top and would like to add pulls if I can find them.

Troy,

For inside door pulls, you HAVE to check out the ones that came on TR4s and early MGBs. They're really lovely.

The Triumph's are chromed and have a little delicate/vintage looking "flip" just before meeting with the pivots.

The ones on the MGB are sturdy plastic, can be painted ivory to match the dash knobs and have several ribs on the reverse side which look really crisp and elegant.

Both are "factory" items and look WAY better than the clumsy EMPI aftermarket items.

I think . . .

I'd have to go with Wolfgang on the Healey or the Triumph TR4. Both are chromed and VERY elegant and designed for the period. More over, they were designed and manufactured for what was a higher priced car than the MGB.

The MGB items are, perhaps, just as nice, but would take a little work in painting and all, and were made for a lower priced car so they don't have quite as much class built into them. PERFECT period touch for a racing/outlaw Speedster, but I'd definately go with the beautiful chromed ones for a car done up the high level that I've seen here. I have a pair of original 356 Pre-A handles and TR4 handles and I really think that the Triumph items are a better design and a more appropriate size for the door space provided.

My opinion.
