Does anyone know if there's someone out there that sells wood finished door top rails (the piece that the side curtains slide into). I think I've seen a few speedsters that are finished off with wooden door top rails and like the look.

Does anyone have any information?

Thanks.

Dave, funny you mention that, I've had the same thought. I believe I've seen a pic of a car with wood strips at the top of the doors, but I haven't come across any such accessory from suppliers. It would go great with a wood wheel. I had in mind to create my own - should be pretty simple - just a straight strip of wood. My Nardi wheel looks to be mahogany, so thats what I will try using. The only problem I can see is getting an appropriate ferrule, or hole reinforcement, for the side window posts to go into.
It seemed to me the young man that drove down from Redding on our first run had wood rails also...looked good. Names escape me all too often.

I had my interior doors apart a few months ago and the top rail is not a complex piece of work. I'd think a few straight passes with a jig saw & guide and couple of small curves at each end and you're ready to sand and finish.
