I'm at the door weather stripping stage and wonder if anyone could advise if there is something "new and improved" over the standard 1/4' x 3/4" foam specified in older manuals that may be found at your local Napa or CARQUEST etc. ? Any extra places to put it other than the bottom sill area up to the lock area and then the front of the door itself ? Thanks.

Hi David, I think I would call Henry or his guy Robert to see what they have since yours is an IM. Ray
I suspect new IM doors are different from the ones produced 30 years ago. Suspect DrClock has a preferred material. I'd think the hollow D shaped closed cell foam would be superior to foam stick on stuff. JC Whitney and Grainger should have better products.

David, I've replaced the flat foam strips and used the 'D' weather-strip on my VS and they make a world of difference. I replaced around the (front) trunk lid and both doors. In a darkened garage, I placed a shop light inside the closed trunk and doors, If I could see any light, I would add a bit more on the opposing surface to completely seal the area.

Thanks, Jim. That looks like what I need. Did you buy it a common supplier like NAPA or ?
"D" shaped material also available from McMaster-Carr in several different sizes....
D molding has different wall thickness which can be an issue on compression . JCW and others will not allow the door hood to close.
This is what l use McMaster Carr 609 689 3000 domb shaped black seal . 3/8 h x 5/8 w part #93085k14 .
Thanks for that, Alan and others. Alan, does your last post suggest that you use this type of seal on the front hood also ?
Hood also......

Did the Dr. Clock thing and ordered from Mc Carr and will receive tomorrow. Thanks to all for making these things easier and to Al for easy to use part numbers.
Got my dash tonneau fasteners today and windshield goes in this weekend. Hardtop fitting starts next week.
