I just got my doors installed ...post paint. 2 issues....#1 man they sure sound cluncky with the "vintage" latch mechanisms. I plan on putting sound deadner matt inside the doors and maybe additional insulation under the door panels....will that help? #2 the rear bottom of the door is not flush with the body, it sticks out 1/4 inch. Although it seem that the other 3 corners look good, and the gaps are pretty even. I'm wondering if I could have tweeked the door storing them on the end for 5 months. I did't think glass would do that. have you guys seen this and is there a cure to tweek the door into flush with the body....or is it just another CMC body typical issue?

Gary, I have many of the same issues on my CMC and several others I have seen. Probably just how they came. Not too bad really, but not perfect. I think I've seen about the same on some of the VS ones also. probably varies. Had a new VS owner thinking mine was real, so not that big a deal. About the seats, I think I'll pass for now. I really like that color but I would have to change my entire interior and I have more pressing issues. Also, I kind of like the original looking seat style that came with it.
Hi Gary, I had my body done this spring. (The Car!) and it's an old CMC and the bodyshop guy was saying that the door and the hood. The hood rubbed on the body when it opened was due to old JIGS being tired. He said that the manufacturer uses jigs that chance shape over time and this is what causes fit issues. The only way was to sand it into shape which he did. Although one of my doors still sticks a bit.
