Not in my car. there is actually a local VS owner that found me last night on here. How exciting that someone in my backyard has a vs replica! He said his doors rattle and is there a way to fix?

Its a balancing act between weather stripping and striker bar location.... ( That is if the hinges are solidly mounted and / or nothing is running around loose inside the door pannels....) Most likely the weather stripping has compressed with age, if you can locate something with the +/- same thickness, replace it.... Adjusting the striker bolt / bar will move the door in the body opening and may create an esthetic problem... my .02...
@kywriter...hope you are viewing this... there is a place locally here that I am sure you have heard of called hilltop motors. They might carry some of the stripping. I know they have done a couple rebuilds of speedster replicas..
thanks Leon
Hey Todd! this is the type of weather-stripping I used on my VS. I think its called a D-channel strip. I removed the flat thin rubber used in the VS and cleaned the area with acetone, applied peel-n-stick stripping in areas of both doors and front trunk lid. Works very nicely for weather-proofing those areas.
Great fix, Jim!
Thanks Jim....Thats what I used when I restored my CMC heap de jour.....Works really well and if not available locally, can be had from McMaster-Carr.... The stuff I used was 1/2" thick....
Thanks Jim. I'm going to write that down for future on my car! I have to assume I will need to replace somedtrying again @kywriter great tips on potentially getting your doors to stop rattling...
Ps the guy asking in Jacksonville posted pics in the clips section. Red vs speedster...goes by kywriter on here
Hi Todd - thanks guys - I just dropped in. Added washer between striker bar and screws on the door mount. Worked for drivers side. Don't know if it is a fix or a band aide. Ill get some of the 1/2 D channel and may drop by Hill Top.
Also....door rattling can be from worn hinges...like on my ride. You can test this by grabbing the edge of your door and lifting it and and down....If there i any play, your hinges are shot.

Mike there is a little play in the door But the car has less than 2000 miles on it. I think I'll try to drop by Hilltop one day this week and let them take a look at it.
