has anyone ever tried DOT 4 instead of DOT 3 ATE brake fluid?? people say it has better results especially with repeated braking. Does this have any harm on the brake hoses and pipes? thanks in advace.

There is nothing wrong with using Dot 4 instead of Dot 3. Consider this an upgrade as they have higher boiling points. Do not go to DOT 5 . It will eat the rubber seals.
Unless you're really giving your brakes a workout I wouldn't bother. I track a Miata and still use DOT 3 brake fluid. I've had great success with Prestone DOT 3 for FORD vehicles. It has a higher boiling point than most DOT 3 brake fluids (260 degrees C, or 500 degrees F). I haven't boiled my brake fluid yet, but I did heat up the front brakes enough to melt the grease in my monster Miata's front wheel bearings. Ron
