In case you didn't hear ... He couldn't go a deployment with only adding a "Senior" to his "Chief" ... he also had to add an EXW (Expeditionary Warfare Specialist qualification). And he hit 20 years a few weeks ago. He's already talking about another star!! Geez ...

More importantly ... He'll be home for R&R for about two weeks this month!! Our plan is to mostly stick around the house and enjoy our newly-wedded-ness. But he'd also love to see friends... SO please plan on coming by the house for a visit. I have to be a little vague about specific dates, but sometime from the 11th through the 22nd of August or so should be fine. We *may* make a brief trip up to NYC. And we will be going down to Fort Myer at least once. Drop a line and let us know when you can come by.

DO NOT send email to his military email address. He will not be reading it once he leaves there. You should email me (teresa.h.drake@gmail.com) or him (lucky.drake@gmail.com). You can call me (843.343.3845) or him (443.995.0576 -- but I have his phone 'til he gets here).

PLEASE forward this on to anyone who you think should get it.

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

OK folks, it's official, he is here and he looks good -- well rested, shall we say?? Had a pleasant evening w/ the Drakes and right-seater Babs, beginning in her backyard pool cooling off, followed by a spirited ride through the environs to a neat road house for crab cakes and beer (El Guapo will recall this place), then desert and drinks after back at Babs'. Some fun. There was talk of yet more stripes on the sleeve and heavy-weight promotions and continuing service to the country also. Hmmm . . . And maybe buying a house in the country w/ garage space for the Hoopty, of course. I understand the Hoopty was retrieved from the shop w/ all running parts reworked and in good order. Engine described as "never better" and it was TFA previously, so I have trouble imagining it now, from just a little carb tweaking and timing setting. Anyway, the recently replaced alternator apparently has gone off to an alternate universe leaving the Hoopty w/ lack of coulombs, and so the Projekt was not in attendance at the soir

Well ... He's gone again. I took him to the airport earlier today.

As many have guessed, we didn't check the SOC, so we didn't see any of your postings. Sorry --- newlyweds stuff was more important.

Mickey -- we never went north on I-95, or we would have stopped in. We'll take you up on the cigars in November!

Kelly -- we had a WONDERFUL evening with you two. Thanks!

Lane -- thanks for not stopping in on our bedroom.

Sadly, there's pretty much no way that Cory can make the Smokey's run. But I'm thinking I'm going to do it!

Thanks for all the well-wishing!
Thanks everyone!

I talked to Cory twice in the past 24 hours. He was in Paris at the airport. He should be back on base tomorrow. I'm sure he has a lot of catching up to do ... he may not check this for a while. The 36-hours of travel will also put him a little behind on sleep!
Forty-six hours and twenty-one minutes of travel time. Dang.
Kelly, we had a GREAT time at dinner that night. Thanks for that!
Didn't check the SOC, didn't do anything crazy; one road-trip to Norfolk and a bunch of sleeping and domestic bliss.
Back on the job now, looking forward to hearing about Teresa tearing it up with the rest of you guys this fall. Scheduled to be home in November sometime.
Woo-Hoo! Thanks for the kind words, everybody!
