Kelly -- Please tell Barbara that the tomatoes and pepper went splendidly into a homemade salsa last week. I'm sure Cory can rave about it! We also enjoyed the cucumbers in some salads and as munchies. Thanks again!
Cory, BERT,
The boutiful harvest continues. Picked about 10 gal. (two five gal. buckets) of toms. and such yesteray. We have more than know what to do with. As to "tearing it up" w/ the SOCers, I'm guessing some serious Speedster weather is just before us now. We will have to use it to good advantage. As I understand it, the Hoopty is good to go, right? Certainly, we'll do the Pumpkin Run, and aside from that, who knows?? I am just back from five days off in New Hampshire, so have a lot of catching up to do first. Pls stand by for a shout and a cruise.

Uh ... I'm back in Africa. Teresa's in NYC for a couple weeks, working, and the car is at Matt Tobia's house in Crofton.
If you promise to NOT drive like you usually do, maybe we can connect you up with Matt and his wife, Jeanne (pron.: Jeanie) for a jaunt to that watering hole we went to a couple years ago.
He's not all that familiar with the trailing throttle oversteer, and shouldn't take corners fast until he's familiar with how the car handles -- but he'd sure get a kick out of a weekend drive.
Teresa gave him a full passdown on the car otherwise, and he's had a check-ride. The brakes are better off now than they ever have been, and everything else is fresh.
I'll PM his number if you want.

Cory, sent an email yesterday for you and the boys...did you get it? if not, email me again and I will send as an attachment....
Cory - 12 camel toes on the road?! I see that on my usual cruise through Newport Beach! :-)
Last Camel toe I saw was not on the road..
According to my count, I see three "toes" on the ground. And I'm just guessing here, having never studied such things, but I do not think camels have toes, exactly. And Cory is right: I have never seen three such creatures on a MD roadway -- ever. Now out in LaLa land, aka SoCal, I'd allow that anything is possible.
Hey Vince: Hump this!!
Hey Vince: Hump this!!
Elephant asked a camel , ''why are your boobs on your back?''...Camel said ''Aint that some shit , coming from a sucker with a limp dick on his face!''
Bwaaaaaaaaaa.....

Hey, Vince:
40 years ago I'd see a whole ridge look like that, with many casualties....hopefully there was a bad guy in that exposion of yours....and that we aren't just wasting our ordinance...
Thanks for the thought....

Cool shot, wish I still had some pics of the Daisy Cutter bursts when we dropped them from B130s (aka C130). The idea was to drop a 15,000 lb bomb from a C130 into a jungle and make an instant helicopter landing zone. Worked like a champ. It leveled a clearing blowing trees, monkeys and all kinda crap away. I had shots of one "Cutter" being pulled out of the Herc by a drogue chute, floating down through the jungle canopy and then a huge shock wave, smoke and dust everywhere. Choppers hovering out of shock range loaded with troops ready to go in. That bomb was about eight foot in diameter and close to 20 foot long, ask me how I know. I had to stand on top of them to mount my high speed cameras to record each drop.

You know, there's not that much stuff that needs blowing up over here. Sometimes, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference in a bafore-and-after picture, anyway.
'Course, I did just read another newspaper story yesterday about an attack on an albino guy who was chopped up in neighboring Tanzania. No word on the interweb here about THAT attack yet, but there are plenty of incidents to read about online.
This poor bastard's leg and jewels were hacked off with a machette by some villagers who took them to a witch doctor. The 'doc' actually paid them for the parts, because they contained 'very powerful magic' or some such.
The TZ government, which really does want that pesky albino hunting thing to go away, said that the practice needed to come to a stop. Great plan.
The response from the affected, non-albino folks?
"Why should we?"
Really? No, really. Read on:

How about that? A regular 'Welcome Wagon,' eh?

That's a big bitch. No wonder they use cargo planes to deliver them!

Hehehe, that's it Cory, One night I was standing on one mounting the high speed camera when we came under attack. An incoming rocket exploded about 50 yards away and lit up the inside of the aircraft like it was high noon. I yelled at the crew chief "Where the nearest bunker?", he replied "Forget it if this baby gets hit the flightline is gone!". Holy Crap, all I could do was finish my job, tighten my ass and wait for Giant Voice to give the all-clear.

Whenever we can get our old G.I. heads together for a barley-pop or two, I have a feeling we're going to have a bunch of good laughs.
Vince, you coming to Carlisle '10? I'm pretty sure we're gonna see Nolan and El Guapo there ... Along with a whole bunch of other folks.
Could be a good time.

I wish I could make Carlisle in '10, but Jan and I will taking an Alaskan Cruise for our 50th Anniversary. Two major events in one year may lead to an unwanted third, LOL. Hope to meet up another time. Cory you take care and DON'T volunteer for anything you don't need.

So Nolan, how about leaving the keys to your car for your nephew and let him come over and drive it to Carlisle. He was a hoot to have around :-)
Lane: You guys and gals really made an impression on Graham and Pat, they want to immigrate and stay in the States permanently. Hard part is unless he's from a country unfriendly with the US he has little or no chance of getting a green card. Sure they could enter and stay illegally but they have 10 grandkids they'd want to visit so that's out. We can't sponsor them cause aunts and uncles are not close enough relatives to qualify for family immigration. The only way left is to find a job in the US that an American doesn't qualify for that fits his work experience, then he could get a work permit and green card. I've sent out job applications but no bites.
