I spent two hours (mostly in the rain) yestereday at the Woodward Dream Cruise (Detroit , MI for "those who need ta know") and did not see a single 356! I did see a lot of AC Cobras and F5 builds in the Snake Pit, but did not see any of the 356's on the road. This applies to both steel and plastic. There was probably a 356 alley but it was raining, I had my wife and 3 kids and just got off the Amtrak from Chicago so I thought two hours of looking was enough! I know two SOC members who said they would be there, and probably were, but I could not hook up.

I am wondering if there would be interest in arranging for an SOC meeting place for next year's Cruise. There is a Porsche dealer on Woodward, but even the 356 Registry guys think that dealer is a bit uppity and usually avoid the location. The event usually gets kicked off on Thursday evenings, roars on Sat, and a few locals head to a club called Calloway's on Sunday.... Course, I need to do my deal soon so I have a true vested interest, but I figure I already have the "need for speed(ster)!"

Otherwise there were many AWESOME rides, no pics from me though, anyone else go that had pics, see any speedsters?

Ron,

I was there as well - but at the last minute decided to drive up in my regular car rather than the Speedster. Good thing too - as we got caught in the rain just as we were walking back to where we had parked the car at 13 mile behind D.O.C. and looked like bunch of drowned rats!

We saw the cobras as well, and a lot of other cool looking cars. My father took some photos and I will try and post them here in the next few days.

I didn't see any 356's (real or replica) either.

Jim.

PS I sent you an email to your snipes.com account.
Spent 4 days at the Dream Cruise. I had the Cobra in the Snake Pit. There were a couple of 356's on Thurs and Friday, I didn't see any on Saturday. The Porsche dealer was right across the street from us on Saturday, and now that I think about it, there weren't many Porsche's there. He had a Carrera GT parked out front and roped off, but I think he sold his out front parking to another car group.
