It's all about drilling the suspension arms, kind of along the lines of what used to be done with hot rod front axles and Porsche race cars. Of COURSE, I'm all over it trying to get some real world info on whether it weakens the arms too much for street use. Plus, I think that a drilled front beam with urethane bushings, a throw threaded rod and coil-overs (hence no need to fill the tubes with grease) would look awesome ! !

So, Bonneville, so European racing from the 60's. So cool ! ! !

Any opinions of the strength issue? Porsche didn't seem to be worried, seems like the dune racers aren't having a problem, but the paved road can, like life itself, be full of pot holes, pitfalls, and obstacles that test the strength of man AND machine.

Actually those arms flex too much normally. It is a very commom fix to weld angle iron on the stock arms to increase rigidity for racing of 356's. And yes, Porsche used VW arms on 356's, my last one was marked with a Porsche part number and had the VW logo forged into them. But, TC, you already know that...

Personally I would not trust them drilled.....I suppose they might be OK if you only drive it to church on Sunday's?.....a little driven car, mostly for show? Why not?
