Hi all,

I am considering adding driving lights to my Speedster And I am not sure of a suitable light or supplier.

Any thoughts on suppliers?

I want a driving light rather than a fog type light. Looking for something that suits the older Speedster style.

Thanks guys.

Try googling "marchall reproduction driving lights", too.  I've used Hella 500-series driving lights in the past (GREAT lights!,) but not on a 356.  For my Speedster I have Marchal driving lights.  Lots of those were used on 356's as well.

Try looking on Pelican Parts, or contact Carey Hines at Beck Speedsters to see if they have any available.  I got mine from Carey but I think I remember seeing some on the Pelican site.

Thanks Marty for the lead.

I had been surfing eBay looking at the various options.

I just ordered a pair of the lights you have from Bill Tracey in Florida and he emailed back via eBay saying he is dispatching today.

I selected the 5' 3/4" units...

I will need to check if globes are included?

How do you find the improvement in vision and lighting the road with the 55 watt globes.

My auto electrician will wire them into high beam so they come on together.

he is also going to upgrade the globes in my headlights to the new blue - more light and clarity.

I added the brighter globes in my GT40 and they light the highway up like day.

And the Ford utility behind has the bright globes in the headlights and in the driving lights. The newer utilities don't allow the upgrades due to heat problems.

The utility is now sold.

Cheers

Gordon,

The obvious and biggest difference is the noise..

Interestingly the 356 attracts more attention than the GT40.

I really enjoy the roof off quietness and the coffee runs.

We spent some time in Savannah a few years ago, a really lovely part of the country. We hope to get back soon and venture more into the Carolina's.
