Folks,
Car is driving rough ... hesitant acceleration accross all rpm levels ... after turning on AC. Won’t go back to normal even after turning off ac.
Not the spark plugs, not valve, not carbs, not bad gas... seafoam won’t help ... any idea of what might be the highest probability items to look at ?
I usually almost never use AC but it is 110 degrees in Houston these days !

You may have a malfunction in your a/c that is causing the rpm drop/rough running. Check the electric clutch on the air con compressor to make sure it's disengaging when you turn off the switch. Sounds like it may not be.
There should be an electric connector to the a/c electric clutch that you can disconnect to make sure it's not running. It it's hard to get to, look for a fuse or relay that controls it, then disconnect it. If you disconnect the power to the a/c and the car returns to normal running, you have isolated the problem to the a/c.

Z: From your described symptoms, I doubt that it has anything to do with the A/C.
Given that you're driving around in 110º heat, and given that you have a BIG, heat-generating engine with minimal airflow around it (like the rest of us), I suspect that the Pertronix ignition module inside of your distributor is cooked. The Pertronix module is heat-sensitive to begin with and driving in that heat drove it over the edge and cooked it.
Replace the module and that should cure it.

A faulty ignition module seem to match perfectly the symptoms ... I will go that direction and will keep you posted.
