I live out side of Reading and will be moving the car tomorrow to a friends garage. I am in the thick of a re-model so car is under cover, I don't like leaving it covered in the drive it has never been left out always garage kept.
I find it interesting about the engine change, do you guys carry thousands for new engines? Sure it might be the right choice for you but I just don't have those kind of funds. now that the car has been repaired I have been driving it. Spent quite a lot to put it on the road which I am not looking to re-coop. Now if you boys are so dead set on putting a 1776 in my car come on over but I don't have that kind of money or able to do this job. My money went for the care of my husband.
So, bottom line if your interested buy the car if you think another engine would be the ticket and sell the '63 356 B would you not be the better for it? Do the math gentleman bought for $15,000 asking $18,ooo engine appraised at $8000 to $10,000. So wouldn't that make my car a $10,ooo ride? You get the $8000 or more for the engine use that to purchase your 1776 and install it in that cooshy garage with all your tools.
