The new engine and tranny slipped right in earlier today. Got measurements for plumbing (yes, it will have a shower and a toilet). The pre-oiler is up on the backside of the firewall and Ted built a nifty little frame to house the oil/wine cooler.

Dropped the engine back out to start all the fittings and lines. Torque bar hasn't arrived yet and that's a little scarey. The GB643 nose cone/transmission brace is well worth the $135! No bucking broncos allowed!

Oh, probably a good thing I went with a new stronger tranny, the old one had some metal shavings and stringy pieces in it when we unzipped it... One Big Foot, one spyder gear and 130HP+/- may have been a little too much for it!

Man-o-man, stressing to the max. I still have steerhorns to mount on the front and this business of having to keep an eye on engine performance means two additional gauges... I don't want to cut them into the dash, open to suggestions, pictures?

Thanks,
P.

What does the GB643 look like and what does it do exactly? I am gathering it is a traction bar type device that prevents wheel hop. The local drag guys here just use a long bar and put tension on the engine or something, with turnbuckles on the ends of the bar. I'm not sure if the bar goes under the tranny or the engine. Tell me what you know.

I'm hoping to get a ride in your car Paul. It sounds like it's going to be hot.

How about mounting the gauges to the left of the steering wheel, below the dash. That way you can see them, but they are out of the way so no one else can see them.
