dual grill engine covers

I am thinking of making a dual grill engine cover, but know nothing about how this is done

Are the grills the same as a single grill cover?
What is the centre spacing between the grills?.

Does it help in cooling or more cosmetic? If so any empirical data on how much of a temp reduction?

Robert; look at the Envemo pictures under Classified Forum. It has dual grills.

I've seen them done using dual CMC Hibachi cast grills (which add torsional strength over the multi piece OEM grills). Note that grills for Speedster/Cabrioletts have a different profile than those for the coupe. I'd think cooling would be better - but you'll need rain shield and drains unless you are in desert or keep in garage. Even the single grill results in wet engines!

One question is why? Extra cooling air is a good reason. For the same cost you could get a GT Speedster type engine cover and get the extra air for cooling and look cooler than a twin grill. Just something to think about.

356Cs had 'em. It wouldn't be "correct" for an "A" replica, if anybody cares (I don't).

If I wanted to do it, I'd just glass up the deck for two standard "A" grills, and call it good.
