O.K., so far the SOC Newport Harbor cruise on Sept 12th (3:00-5:00PM);

Musbjim & Ginny
Will & Debbie
Vince & Terri
Mary & Kirk
Gerd & Carol
Tom & Candace
Robert & Tamara
Bruce C.
Jennifer & Darrin & Emily

Since I will need to reserve/pay for 2 boats for this size group, please give me your attendance probability. If the group size stays this number, the cost will be $24/person for the 2-hour rental.

Also, who will be staying for Joe's Crab Shack? I will make dinner reservations for our group for 6:00pm. We're looking forward to hanging with our SOC friends next weekend!

I'm sorry guys but we're out of the park on this one. Kirk has major tooth extraction on Thurs and customers (OMG) what is that word...? coming in earlier Saturday afternoon.
If ya all get bored you can always just come a tad north 10-mi or so to good ole Sunset Beach and meet up.
Or if he's up to it maybe I can drag his toothless mouth to dinner to meet up w/you folks.
Sounds like fun. Have a great time. Who's driving these ltl babes by the way other than "Fearless Jim"?
O.K. here's the revised boarding list (confirmed) for the Duffy '3-Hour-Cruise-Condensed-To-2-Hours' Cruise;

Musbjim & Ginny
Will & Debbie
Robert & Tamara
Vince & Terri
Jennifer & Darrin
Gerd & Carol (?)

While these Duffys will seat 10 comfortably they have a 12 person limit. This current list warrants only one boat with cost split of $20 per person.

I will need confirmation from any one else (either on this thread or PM) before Thursday as I will cancel the 2nd Duffy that I reserved on my credit card.

There is a CD player on-board so bring your favorite music CD as well as your favorite snack & beverage. As mentioned before, I recommend bringing your 'Other Car' and not the Speedster, as you will be parking along PCH. With perfect weather forecast for this weekend it should be a great cruise.

Before you go out on the Duffy Electric Boat check the tide chart. If you experience an extreme tidal variation it can cause what mariners call "a sucking tide" (it's not what you think Vince). If this happens the Duffy's can actually become disconnected from or hung-up on the guiding 'track' and you can be stranded, have to navigate against the tide, or swim for shore. For more on this phenomenon see:

OK, with these confirmed SOCers we have reached the maximum number of passengers for this 1-boat cruise (12). Subsequently, I have cancelled the reservation on the 2nd Duffy. Boarding at 3:00 in Newport Beach will be;

Musbjim & Ginny
Vince & Terri
Will & Debbie
Gerd & Carol
Jennifer & Darrin
Robert & Tamara

With this confirmed number of passengers, rental cost is now $16.50 per person

We will be bringing a cooler/ice for drinks Please bring your favorite snack & drink (alcohol is allowed). There is a CD player on-board so bring whatever music you want to listen to (Vince, DO NOT bring your 'Bay City Rollers' cd or Gerd will break out his 'Best of ABBA' album).

Directions: from 405 Fwy take 55 Fwy south. 55 fwy ends in Costa Mesa and becomes Newport Blvd. Continue south to Pacific Coast Hwy and just as you pass Hoag Hospital (Hospital Road signal) bear (right) to merge with Pacific Coast hwy (south). Turn left onto PCH and continue south for approx 1 mile, you will pass a large white marquee on the right side with the name ARDELL. The Duffy office is just past this marquee at 2001 West Coast Hwy. Park wherever you can find a spot.

Please arrive at 2:30PM to allow time to park and boarding for departure at 3:00PM!

See you in Newport!
