It does like to hang around sometimes for a lot longer than is usually welcome.
From an "Old School" Dune Buggy guy (built my first in 1967) I have to say that you did everything absolutely right on that buggy. It's even got the heavier windshield frame so you can hold a surf board up on it and the roll bar. I should have bought it. But then, it would have made me move to Hawaii or the Bahamas, just so it would fit in and not feel "different" - Heck, I don't even see buggies at Cape Cod, the largest Duned Sand Bar in all of New England, any more!!!
It was a fabulous car era while it lasted, and that buggy looks like it's still back there, livin' the life.
Well done, Mister Merklin.
Love the old school '60's look, especially the steering wheel and the wheels with the smoothies. Two bazookas for the exhaust would've been the perfect touch but would've probably made it louder.
Thanks guys a fun build but every single nut and bolt had to be just right ....
The twin Bazooka exhaust robs 15% of the HP from that small 1641 cc because it lacks scavenging from other cylinders. That exhaust is a rare and the NOS boxed Meyers Manx I found I had ceramic coated and that system is desirable with the Meyers Manx crowd,
Wow!! Didn’t know about the exhaust; that one is even more authentic.
