Thanks so much for the articles. Great pictures. Love old Porsche racing history. This is a poster advertising the 1953 victory. It was a photo finish between 2 550 Spyder Coupes with pushrod engines taking first and second. Double cam engines had just been developed and were undergoing testing. Poster actually shows a 356 at the finishing line in the background. I'm sure this was to advertise the 356 as well as the 550. 356 was the volume seller so they wanted to associate it with the 550. Artist is a famous racing artist named Strenger who did a few other Porsche posters. This poster is in German. I have the French version hanging in my man room. If you notice Hans Hermann, arguably the greatest Porsche racer of all time, was in the second place car.
