Just a reminder...... if you have not made a hotel reservation...... tomorrow is the * last day * for the remaining rooms in the block as they will be released 12:01AM Wednesday April 21st.
You will then be on your own to secure lodging.
See the Speedsters at Carlisle East on the home page for detailed hotel information.

Bill,

I exchanged e-mails with Colton last night, here's what's happening with him: "Hope you are well. I am most likely not going to be able to make it. The sping has turned into a quagmire of work, weddings (my cousins), and our own wedding plans. If anything changes, I will let you know. If I can't make it, please pass along my best regards to everyone".

I congratulated him and wished him the best. Told him if he could get away for a day to drive up Saturday - as long as it wasn't his wedding day!
I think that there may be a chance to beat out the Fiero club this year! In the past the Fiero club has most years taken the award for most club participation. We havnt figured it out yet where they realy fit in as the show is "Imports and Replicac/Kits" Just take a walk past the ferio club and say "Look at all the Doners" then watch out for the flying wrenches.
Gordon, I checked out your route. You get into Pa. at Clinton, NJ which is way north of me. I'd have to go north by about 75 miles just to hook up; and then go south again. I live in Spring Lake, NJ which is straight across NJ from Phila. Where do you think would be the best place to join up?
For those of you who are going to be around Carlisle Saturday night, don't forget the Saturday evening dinner at the Sunnyside Restaurant hosted by the New Jersey Replicar Club. Dinner will be at 7:00 and will be seperate tabs/dutch treat. Alan just sent an e-mail to me and said we have 62 people already reserved! If you would like to join us, please send an e-mail to Alan Merklin (drclock@hotmail.com) to make your reservation(s).

Don't forget - we plan to hit the local go-kart track following dinner! Batting cages and mini-golf will also be available.
Just to add a bit regarding the Go Carts......

The facility has three tracks: an indoor Oval Track that is timed, an outdoor "Lemans" style track with a bridge cross over and lastly a Slick Track ( smooth epoxy concrete) hat is totally fun even for us big kids!

As Bruce mentioned there is batting cages , mini golf, laser tag and skating.

"Sports Emporium " is open until midnight.

Hey! Carlisle is getting close! I'm looking to get the final sign-up list completed this week for everyone joining the Northeast Caravan to Carlisle.

Just to reiterate, we'll be running an organized caravan of Speedsters, Spyders and anyone else wishing to join us in non-356 vehicles (would LOVE to get a few Fiero-based Lambos!!) and support vehicles (that includes my Pickup!).

We'll be leaving Providence Rhode Island at 9am on May 21'st, and expect to make Carlisle, PA by 5pm that day, including stops along the way to pick up cars joining us.

We'll have a support vehicle, including most of the the contents of a very well equipped shop, a couple of VERY competent mechanics, a trailer in case of breakdowns, a pretty complete Spares inventory for VW's and Porsches, CB radio (Handle: Five Cent Racing), TWO Cell phones, GPS guidance and lots of coffee and Mountain Dew to keep us hyper.

We expect to have somewhere around 10 - 12 cars in the caravan by the time we exit New Jersey (Picking up members of the New Jersey Kit Car Club along the way) and should be an impressive sight pulling in to Carlisle!

If you wish to join us on our trek (even if you think you've already signed up), then email me at gnichols16@cox.net and I'll add you to the final list and reply to you with the trip route, ETA's to waypoints so you'll know when and where to join up with us, and a list of cellphone numbers so you can contact us along the way to join us.

Come on along! You'll have a GREAT time!!

Mike ,

I usually arrive at Carlisle Friday AM 8:30-9:00.
Heading directly for the Carlisle HS Marching Band's/food vendor for my annual best breakfast!
Friday is the first of the three day event, the morning hours start off casually but gathers momentum as the day goes on.
A great time to walk the large vendor and huge flea market areas and indoor manufactures displays whuich is mind boggling!
Saving the reat of the day, Saturday & Sunday for our
"Meet the Cast and Crew of SOC!"
