Easy Fit Pins & Loxx Fasteners for Tonneaus & Tops

My Speedster’s tonneau & top were fastened to the rear deck by tucking the rear of the tonneau & top under a trim around the rear deck.  Although clean looking, took too long to transition from tonneau to top.  I finally got around to installing conventional fasteners.

I used Easy Fit pins to position the fasteners.  I used Loxx (similar to Tenax) pull up units.  Although kinda pricey, both worked really well.  I can’t speak to the durability of the Loxx units, too new to rate, but they are polished stainless and seem stout.

I have some experience with leather work (gunbelts & holsters), but zero with tonneaus & tops.  The Easy Fit set up allows for positioning of the fasteners so everything is nice & tight.  There a bunch of Youtube videos on the how tos.

I’m pretty sure many SOC folks will forget more about tonneaus & tops than I will ever know.  I decided to post about the pins & Loxx units because they worked as advertised.  Today, that’s kinda rare.

My Speedster top has no real frame.  It has the usual two bows and a header.  The bows and header are connected to the top but there is no frame connecting the bows and header.  As I posted earlier, the pins & fasteners allowed for a nice tight fit.

Wolfgang was right.  The Loxx units aren’t offered in polished stainless.  The vendor listed them as polished stainless.  I used the chrome ones.  Some may think it minor, but folks rely on the specs & info posted here, I know I do.  It’s not just my OCD in overdrive.

Keep the shiny side up and stay between the ditches.
