Hello Everyone -

I found this little gem on ebay near my house - was hoping to go take a look this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to ask based on the pictures.  They are pretty short with the details which makes me a bit concerned.  I've offically wasted a couple hours at work reading through this site!  Very informative for a newbie!

Thanks!

Good deal unless you are self employed!  Otherwise you got paid to goof off.

A real 356/912 engine in decent running condition is worth $4-6k.  They are however costly to rebuild compared to a T1 VW engine.  Since you're in the neighborhood, I'd run by and take it for a test drive.  Looks like any reserve has been met and there are 2 days left on bids.

One could ask the seller about that.

It's interesting that it is in Ann Arbor since that is where I am.

AW, you say it is near your house. Are you in Ann Arbor too?

Hi Michael -

I'm actually in Dexter on Mast Road.  Work at Domino's Farms.

I'm not so sure it is a Vintage Vince.  It certainly has a Vintage interior and it may just be a Vintage that was sold as a kit and home built, but I think it is a CMC or Fiberfab.

It has an Hibachi style grill and I don't see the faux torsion bar access holes on the body in front of the rear tires.  It doesn't look like the engine and trunk hinges are typical Vintage either.  Also, the drivers door does not look to have as good a fit to the body at the back as Vintage cars usually do and the defroster vents are not typical Vintage.  Never the less, not a bad looking car.
